Winnipeg is full of amazing people.

Some amazing people that come to mind immediately are the members of Hot Thespian Action. If you are not familiar with their brand of comedy, just click on the link and I guarantee you will be an instant fan.

They have been busy as of late, and recently won an ACTRA Golden Boy Award for their web series pilot Down A Peg - for which I had the honour of shooting still photography and behind the scenes video.

I have had the pleasure of working in the film and TV industry for the past 20 years, as a stunt woman, actor, dancer and puppeteer. I love it. We have a fantastic and supportive community here in Manitoba, and I'm proud to see how much it has grown over the years.

The next time you are at a movie, make a point of staying through to the end of the credits and really make note of just how many people are involved. The next time you watch a commercial, know that there was a LARGE team of people working long hours, and paying attention to the most minute of details (and some even risking their bodies and lives...ahem...like me...) for that 30 seconds of advertising.

The community in Winnipeg impresses me so much, because even with the intense schedules, people STILL find time to donate and help support the creative endeavours of others. It's a big part of what makes this city so special to me.
