Spring is a time of immense preparation for any dance teacher.

Today we celebrate the talented individuals at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance. Today, their students head into an intense weekend of competition at the CNDC, and then further performance opportunities at the Dance Manitoba Festival in May, and their annual recital in June.

These artists dedicate countless hours of their time outside of the studio to create beautiful and inspiring pieces of movement for hundreds of kids. The job not only requires them to be teachers and artists, but also (and not limited to): motivational speakers, coaches, counsellors, medics, costume designers, makeup artists, music editors, administrators, event organizers, mediators, and cheerleaders. I could go on but the list is far too long.

If you get the chance today, let a teacher know just how much you appreciate them. Believe me, they would love to hear it right about now.
