Today I'm sharing a personal story.

12 weeks ago I made a simple decision.

I wanted a structured fitness regime for the start of my 2018. I did this not because I was unhappy with my body in any way...let me make this very clear. I just wanted to have a set schedule and to challenge myself.

I didn't really realize what I was getting myself into when I enrolled in a 12 week challenge with Alex & JT at Total Package Fitness, but it has been a game changer for me.

The challenge consists of bootcamps 3x/week and a healthy meal plan.

Here is what I've learned:

I actually enjoy working out at 6am.
I had some really poor, unconscious eating habits. (e.g.: ignoring messages from my body; making poor choices because of a lack of planning and desperation; anger eating)
Refined sugar is highly addictive and basically evil.
Dopamine is also highly addictive. ;)
I now eat MORE delicious food than I ever used to, I have MORE energy, and I feel MORE balanced emotionally.
Physical fitness is more about maintaining my mental health. The older I get, the more important this becomes. The physical results are nothing compared to the way I feel inside.
I want these changes for the long game. I want to live a long and healthy life that is one of quality ~ which for me involves mobility, exploring the world and trying new things. Prevention is key.
